Sarah is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in surgery and medication-assisted weight loss here at Richmond Aesthetic Surgery. She completed her undergraduate education at UNC Chapel Hill where she studied psychology, biology, and neuroscience. She then went on to receive a Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Richmond. Upon graduation, Sarah was awarded the Peer Award by her PA school class. This is an award that is bestowed upon one student who demonstrated the qualities of an excellent healthcare provider.
Prior to PA school, Sarah worked for a medical non-profit in rural Colorado where she provided integrated care to underserved populations with complex medical needs. Here she gained invaluable patient care experience that sparked her passion for guiding patients through their health and wellness journeys.
When visiting our office, you will see Sarah in pre- and post-operative appointments, assisting with in-office procedures, and providing comprehensive weight management care. Sarah is also in the operating room assisting Dr. Zemmel each week with surgical cases.
Sarah is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants. Sarah lives in Richmond with her husband and their golden retriever. You may find her working out at Orangetheory, going to farmers markets with her twin sister, or dining at her favorite local restaurants.
